For the love of sea glass....

The love of sea glass all began in 1993 when a trip with a few friends to a secret beach in Rhode Island they said had lots of great sea glass. Not knowing about sea glass at all I decided to join the fun. The path to the beach was obscured from the road and down a winding path to a cliff that overhung the ocean. When we hit the beach, I noticed that it was mostly rocky. We walked along the shoreline together and as the waves rolled in and the sun danced on the water, I noticed something glimmering in the sand...I found my first piece of sea glass! I was excited, intrigued and instantly in love with this interesting find. The more I researched sea glass, I came to understand it's not just a shard of discarded glass, but a story...a history of being smoothed by years if not decades of tumbling in the tides, kissed by the ocean, and returned to the shore. I regarded each one as a fascinating way nature creates beauty in transformation.

I began collecting more and more of these ocean gems with each beach trip. As most of you understand, it is quite an obsession once started, and it takes on a unique life of its own. Soon, my pockets weren't enough-I needed plastic bags full of sea glass. Then, when I had a vast collection looking at it in a jar or on a shelf wasn't enough...I wanted to share that magic with others.

 So, I began creating jewelry that carries the soul of the sea, pieces you can wear, hold close, and feel connected to the shoreline no matter where you are....
